So I am back on the diet that I know works for me. That consists of lean protein, lots of veggies, a small amount of fruit and whole grains, and kefir every day. What has to go is anything that has flour, sugar, or is processed. No more excuses for the tiny sample of blueberry muffin at the grocery store. All those tiny bits of regular frozen yogurt, breads, etc. added up to misery.
As for Alison, she seems to be doing better. Her food sensitivity tests show she is allergic to eggs and sensitive to most dairy so there will be some dietary changes for her. Her most recent CT scan showed that her lymph nodes are a bit smaller, so that is headed in the right direction. She goes back to the doctor this week to learn the results of recent hormone and other tests.
Alison and I are both eating as gluten-free as possible. There are a lot of yummy substitutes out there now. One of my favorites is Blue Diamond's Nut Thins. They are delicious with hummus, cheese or peanut butter. A great treat for those with celiac disease.
